Introduction

The following workpackage and tasks were assigned to the Centre de Coopération Internationale en Recherche Agronomique pour le Développement (CIRAD) in the project:

Workpackage 4.0: IPM (Pest and pesticides management on vegetables)

The objective of this workpackage was the reduction or elimination of too hazardous pesticides without negatively affecting yields and at the same time improving vegetable quality. The workpackage is structured into the following components:

• Pest management (under the scientific leadership of Dr. Dominique Bordat, CIRAD)
• Pesticide management (under the scientific leadership of Dr. Jacques Deuse, CIRAD)
• Disease management (under the scientific leadership of Prof. Pham van Bien, IAS)
