Field Trip of the University of Southeastern Philippines
57 Agribusiness students (4th year) of the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP), Davao City, had a field trip to Manresa Farm on September 20, 2007. The group, headed by Eng. Renato Ego-Ogan, dropped by at the St. Ignatius Allotment Garden to see the different techno demos displayed there.
One of their objective in visiting PUVeP was to know more about the importance and benefits of integrated crop production systems.
The students enjoyed knowing more about nematode–suppressive cover crops, green manuring, soil solarization, pheromone traps and the treadle pump. The highlight of visit was the ecosan UDD toilet, which several students excitingly tested for themselves.
